Two adjacent sites located off Chorley New Road, Bolton, containing high-quality townhouses which relate to and enhance the Conservation Area.

The existing site contained a substantial number of trees, of which a small number are covered under TPO. The redevelopment of the two sites aims to enhance the Conservation Area whilst minimising the impact on the existing trees, and maximising the ecological potential with additional tree planting and a pond.

With an analysis of the existing site context, the proposed houses have been designed to create a contemporary set of family homes which reference elements of the Conservation Area and the high-end properties that exist within it.

The use of red brick with stone window surrounds is consistent with neighbouring traditional properties. With the addition of high-quality contemporary elements, such as black-framed sash-style windows, the scheme becomes a valuable addition to the local area.
