One detached 3-bedroom eco-home, located in Rossendale. The brief was to design their ‘Grand Design’ retirement home within a greenbelt site, to maximise the views and external areas and for a modest budget.
This new build home in Goodshaw Fold, Rossendale has been designed for our client’s retirement. The sloping site is located within greenbelt, on the edge of a conservation area. The client required a 3 bedroom home which was suitable for their retirement and factoring in adaptability if their health deteriorated during their retirement. They also required a large outdoor terrace / balcony, with a large open plan kitchen, living, dining space with a large amount of glazing and natural light.
The client wanted a rural but contemporary home with wow-factor for a modest budget. It was also important for the building to have low running costs which will be achieved by an air source heat pump / MVHR system with intelligent space planning and budget allocation. The proposal includes a double garage built into the hillside with the rest of the accommodation on the level above. A large South / West facing terrace; an inset balcony from their master bedroom; and a covered terrace provides their require outdoor spaces; along with features such as a large master-suite, utility, pantry, vegetable garden, and wild flower meadow.
