VALLEY ROAD.

A 2-storey contemporary extension on a traditional stone-built property in a conservation area. The brief was to create a contemporary extension which created an additional living space, an ensuite, and a balcony.

Located in a conservation area, in Dronfield Sheffield, the proposal is a 2-storey rear extension of a detached home. The extension incorporates additional living space on the ground floor, and an ensuite with balcony on the first floor. The proposed works will improve the connection to their garden; and provide a contemporary extension which reflects the existing form of the property whilst providing much needed additional accommodation, and views across agricultural land to the rear. The proposed extension forms a gable end to match the pitch and scale of the existing rear elevation, with a contemporary addition to the property, creating an inset, covered balcony for the master suite. The extension will be timber-clad with dark grey aluminium sliding doors and windows.

Working with ZMA has been a pleasure from our first phone call. Just a few phone calls and a site visit to our house later, and the team knew exactly what Laura & I were looking to achieve. They quickly turned around first draft drawings, which gave us new ideas and also built upon what we had been discussing,  so we were very quickly able to give the green light to apply for planning, which was all managed seamlessly by ZMA. We are now nearly complete with our builders working from ZMA’s detailed drawings, and can’t wait to start making use the of the new spaces we are creating.
