Two individually designed new build homes in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The brief was to design a property for our client and his family, and a second property for our client’s parents to live on the same site.
The site is located in Roughlee Booth, Pendle on an open countryside site in the AONB. The proposal creates 2 bespoke forever homes, designed to appear as a sporadic collection of rural properties which reflect the character of the site. The properties have been designed by mixing traditional materiality with contemporary features to create 2 modern homes which blend within the context of the AONB. 1 property is a 2-storey, 4 bedroom family home; and the second property is a 1.5 storey, 3 bedroom home. Features include an exposed oak-framed structure, natural stonework, large barn door-style openings, contemporary glazing, double height spaces and open plan living.
